Kula LIFESTYLE

Kula is some of the best farming land in Maui. Sweet Maui onions, Lettuce, Strawberries, Cabbages, Potatos, Apples Pineapples, Artichokes, etc. This area supplies many of Maui's top Restaurantuers with the freshest Vegetables sometimes grown to a single chef's specifications.
Also Herfords and Black Angus Beef, as well as Flowers of all kinds.

This is a fascinating area to just slow down and get lost in the winding roads through gulies and over ridges and hills.

Take Route 37 through Pukalani onto Route 377 to Kimo Rd. and Explore.
If you continue above Kimo Rd. you will find Kula Lodge, home of the Curtis Wilson Cost Gallery, Kula Sandalwoods and many Flower shops and Gardens.

 THINGS TO SEE AND DO:

Kula Botanical Gardens:

At the Kula Botanical Gardens, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through more than 700 native and exotic plants. This six-acre park features tropical plants and animals indigenous to the Hawaiian Islands.
Here you'll have a chance to see Maui's most famous flower, the protea. Other plants include a variety of orchids, bromeliads and other native Hawaiian plants. The surroundings are very nice featuring a stream, koi pond, waterfall and magnificent views.

You can spend a peaceful, relaxing day here. It's nice for the entire family and won't break your budget. A gift shop, snacks and picnic tables are available. The paths are wheelchair accessible and the Gardens are open daily.

Winery Bike Tour:

This bike tour is not for everyone and is quite different from all the other Downhill Bike Tours on
Maui. This is the one only "ride at your own pace" fully supported Downhill Bike Tour to the Winery.

This 33 mile bike tour begins at Rice Park in Kula, with a continental breakfast before boarding the van and heading to the entrance of the National Park. Upon arrival at the Park entrance each rider will be custom fitted with equipment and given a safety briefing before the bike tour. Throughout the entire tour there will be several stops and you may ride at your own pace and stop as often as you desire. The Tour Van will we nearby at all times. The final destination is Tedeschi Winery, where you ll enjoy a deli-style lunch and visit the Tasting Room for a sample of their wine. (There are optional routes( 40+ miles), for riders who would like to bike some extra miles.
